Location

The Jannes Library and Learning Center is located at 4538 Warwick Blvd.

The library and reading rooms are on the first floor, and library archives are on the lower level. On the second floor are the registrar's office and the Academic Resource Center, which oversees academic advising, personal and career counseling, tutoring and exchange programs, both international and with other AICAD colleges. On the third floor is a computer lab, with 30 Mac workstations, scanners, printers, video editing equipment and much more.

Spring semester: Jan. 23 – May 11

Monday–Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to midnight (KCAI ID required after 9 p.m.)
Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 1 to 5 p.m. (KCAI ID required; closed to public)
Sunday: 2 p.m. to midnight (KCAI ID required after 9 p.m.)

Access to Jannes Library

The back door of the library building will always require an ID-swipe, every day the library is open, during all open hours. Call the library circulation desk at 816-802-3390 if you have questions about hours or ID-swipe-access.

About Jannes Library

Visitors from Kansas City and beyond are welcome in Jannes Library and are invited to use our collections in-house. Nine computer workstations as well as black and white and color printers/copiers located on the first floor are available for the use by all visitors. The Jannes computer lab (third floor) and wireless network, available throughout the building, serve KCAI students, faculty and staff exclusively.

The Jannes Library and Learning Center, named for alumnus and major donor Nicolas Jannes, is an award-winning renovation of the Cunningham Mansion, completed in 2002. Architects BNIM won the AIA-Kansas City Merit Award for Excellence in Design for the project. The library also won the Historic Kansas City Foundation’s Preservation Award in 2003.


Inclement weather

Jannes Library and Jannes Computer Lab usually conform to the campus schedule in effect during inclement weather. If classes are cancelled, the library is most likely closed. Announcement of class cancellation due to inclement weather is made on the KCAI website home page. Also check the library circulation desk phone at 816-802-3390 to determine whether the library is open.
