Question + Explore + Learn + Grow
The visual resources department manages KCAI’s collection of digital images, which span the history of art from pre-historic times to the latest contemporary work.
The collection contains images of paintings, sculptures, prints, photographs, architecture, fiber work, ceramics, furniture, videos, performance and design. The collection is utilized mainly by faculty members in the classroom and in studio, It also is used by students for research and for use in papers and presentations.
A short orientation to the collection is given to all new users. Individual assistance is provided by visual resources department staff members.
Through a hosting agreement with ARTstor, 7,200 of KCAI’s digital images are available online for students to search and download. ARTstor offers its own collection of more than one million images licensed for use in teaching and research. Any search on the ARTstor site will search the collection of both ARTstor and KCAI simultaneously.
Visual resource department staff members are available to assist with the ARTstor image database. For assistance establishing personal accounts, creating folders and uploading images, contact Dustin Johnson at email@example.com or 816-802-3396.
The visual resources department will create digital images upon request. Visit the department and browse the image collection before making image requests.
