Corporate Partners Exhibition Program (CPEP)
Current exhibit, “The Palpable Instinct: Contemporary artists embrace their inner child”
Corporate employers looking to liven up their offices can now fill blank walls with colorful works of art through the Kansas City Art Institute’s Corporate Partnership Exhibition Program. The program showcases artwork by KCAI graduates in the offices of companies that support the Art Institute through membership in the Corporate Partners Program.
The exhibition, professionally curated by Jaimie Warren (KCAI ’02), is designed to travel from office to office. Corporate viewers engage, question and have an opportunity to purchase the art with which they have lived and worked. The current exhibition, entitled “The Palpable Instinct: Contemporary artists embrace their inner child,” is comprised of work by 10 KCAI alumni and is tentatively scheduled to run through 2008.
“These ten artists and KCAI alum represent the incredible and diverse array of skills formed through study at KCAI. Each artist has a unique style and elegant color palate, making the work enjoyable, enlightening and informative. The works themselves are an extraordinary representation of the school, and even more noteworthy is the history behind these artists and their multitude of accomplishments since graduation on a local, national and often international scale.” - Jaimie Warren, Curator
Each exhibit runs an average of three to five months. If a work of art is purchased while it is on display, another work, similar in scale and material and created by the same artist, replaces it on the exhibit’s next stop. “The Palpable Instinct” features works by KCAI alumni Anthony Baab, Armando Diaz, Ariadne Fish, Bob Glinn, Miles Neidinger, Jill Noone, Anne Pearce, Jori Sackin, Emily Sall and Lynus Young.
CPEP is just one facet of the Corporate Partners Program. Levels of involvement vary, but partners can look forward to discounts on continuing education courses, such as digital desktop publishing and multimedia studies; recognition in the KCAI annual report; invitations to on-campus student exhibitions and sales, and many others.
