Do you have questions about the Art and Design Auction 2007?

The following list of Frequently Asked Questions may help!

I want to donate a piece. What do I do now?

  1. Download, print, and fill out an Auction donation form.
  2. Mail form to the Alumni Relations Office (KCAI 4415 Warwick Blvd, KC, MO 64111)
  3. Email alumni@kcai.edu a high resolution image (at least 300 dpi) of the work you are donating
  4. Email alumni@kcai.edu BOTH a 30 words or less artist's statement and bio
  5. RSVP to ttierney@kcai.edu if you will be using your free tickets to the Auction. You will not recieve your tickets unless you RSVP.

 

I'm having trouble downloading the alumni donation form. How can I get a copy?

Email the Alumni Relations Office at alumni@kcai.edu and ask. Please put donation form request in the subject line.

We would be glad to send you a hardcopy through snail mail. You can call the Alumni Relations Office and leave a voicemail including name, address, and requested form at 888-561-2486 or email alumni@kcai.edu and request a hardcopy of the form.

 

There are so many dates. What is the deadline?

This year we are piloting a new project in conjunction with the Auction. You may submit your piece to be considered for a juried show that will exhibit during Alumni Weekend 2007. Alumni Weekend is May 4-5 and we are asking that all alumni that are interested in being considered for this event deliver their piece to ARTworks of Kansas City by April 15, 2007.

If you are not interested in this opportunity, then we ask that you deliver your piece no later than May 10, 2007 for inclusion in the full-color Auction catalog. Submissions received after May 10 will be included in the black and white addendum.

 

Why not have one deadline?

The Auction is later in the season than ever before. We want to give our artists and designers as much time as possible to create a piece for the Auction.

 

How do I contact the alumni relations office?

I want to make a donation, but I'm not sure what it will be yet. What do I do?

Make a pledge by filling out a donation form and let us know that you are still coming up with a fabulous piece. This way, we know and can make preparations while giving you time to create a masterpiece.

 

Where do I send my piece?

Please send all artwork to our art handler, ARTworks of Kanas City. This will ensure the safety and proper handling of your piece. Be sure to notate on the piece that it is designated for KCAI's Art and Design Auction 2007.

Will you provide my information to potential buyers?

Yes, this year we are including contact information in the Auction catalog for all of our artists and designers who donate a piece by the May 10, 2007 deadline.

 

I want to be included amongst the pieces submitted for the juried show featured at Alumni Weekend. How do I ensure this will happen?

Great. We need all of your documentation and piece by April 15. An independent committee will jury the pieces to be featured in the group exhibition which will be exhibited May 4-6 during the 2007 Alumni Weekend.

 

Can I attend the Auction?

Please do. We would love to have you and a guest join us for the festivities. In return for your generous donation, we're pleased to offer you two (2) free tickets to the June 23 Auction (a $250 value). The tickets are to be used by the artist and her or his guest. You must RSVP to ttierney@kcai.edu by May 10 in order to receive your tickets.

 

If my piece sells, I would like to know the final sale price. Will you send me a copy?

Yes, we will send you a letter in July detailing this information.

 

I don't have any art that I can part with right now, but I would like to make a cash donation. Can I do this?

Absolutely. Some alumni make cash donations every year instead of giving work. Please send a check to the Alumni Relations Office (4415 Warwick Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64111) with a note that it is for the 2007 Art and Design Auction. All proceeds will go to student scholarships. Thank you for your support!
