Opening Reception at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center

Our opening at the Leedy-Voulkos is especially meaningful because the work of several of our alumni and faculty members will be on the walls and in cases. Please come to check out the following exhibits:
KCAI Sculpture Faculty Exhibition
From 4:30 to 7 p.m. April 4 an opening reception for KCAI alumni and faculty will take place at the Leedy – Voulkos Art Center in the Crossroads Arts District. Several exhibits inside the center’s galleries feature alumni and faculty work. An exhibition of KCAI sculpture faculty work will be held in the front room. The following artists contributed work to that show: Professor Jim Leedy, Sculpture Chair Michael Wickerson, Associate Professor Karen McCoy, Lecturer Jim Whitworth, and continuing education faculty John Northington (`96 sculpture) and Sarah Biondo (`74 sculpture). In the Opie Gallery, Erin McCallister (`06 fiber) presents “synapse: an installation,” and Reilly Hoffman (`07 attended) presents new work in “Inside Outside Beyond Gone” at the Base Gallery of the art center. Also, the jewelry of mother-and-daughter team of Laura Morris ('05 fiber) and Katherine Morris ('06 fiber) is on display in the glass cases of the front room.
