Alumni Gatherings

Instead of hosting an Alumni Weekend this year, the alumni relations office has decided to bring the party to you. We’re doubling the number of cities on our travel schedule to give our alumni more opportunities to get together.

There also will be a new format for most events this year. Come entertain or be entertained at a KCAI alumni “Where have you been since then?” event!

Most of this year’s gatherings will use the popular PechaKucha 20 x 20 format. PechaKucha was devised in Tokyo as an event for young designers to meet, network and show their work in public. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of conversation (“chit chat”), PechaKucha rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images at 20 seconds per image.

This set-up makes for concise, rapid-paced presentations, each about seven minutes long. We invite alumni to sign up to give presentations on their work, families, hobbies, summer vacation or anything they want!
