Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Epperson Auditorium.
The program will begin with a short documentary film about the Civil Rights movement in the United States.
Charles Coulter, former op-ed editor at The Kansas City Star, who has taught African American history at KCAI and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, will deliver one of King’s speeches.
The program also will include an inspirational dance by Tori Sinclair, assistant director of advising and registration at KCAI.
Guests are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch or they can purchase lunch at Café Nerman, located in Vandersclie Hall. There will be a cake in honor of Dr. King, and participants will receive a free lapel button honoring Dr. King.
