Art History Symposium

The School of Liberal Arts will host an art history symposium at the H&R Block Artspace at KCAI. Three papers written by KCAI students have been selected through a juried process and will be presented at the symposium. Those presenting are Philip Bakala (senior, painting and art history), “Appropriation as Visual Discourse over Pictorial Genealogy and Subjective Interaction”; Kendell Harbin (senior, art history and printmaking minor), “How to Travel through an Entropic Landscape (and come out on the other side): An Essay on Robert Smithson’s ‘Tour of the Monuments of Passaic’”; and Hannah Lodwick (senior, painting and art history), “The Anthropomorphic Reification behind Lichtenstein’s ‘Brushstrokes.’” For more information, contact Rebecca Dubay, Ph.D., assistant professor of art history, at rdubay@kcai.edu.
