Ellen Ziegler is an artist working in Seattle. She is also a graphic designer and teacher. Her practice includes drawing, sculpture, assemblage and artist's books. She works with mirrored glass, tar paper, cyanotype and other experimental materials.
Ziegler's artwork has been featured in a number of solo and group shows throughout the United States and in Europe, including Seattle, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, New York, London and Sofia, Bulgaria where she was represented in the 2011 Sofia Biennale.
She has lectured and taught at the University of Washington School of Art; University of Guanajuato, Mexico; Cornish College of the Arts; the School of Visual Concepts; Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences; Whitman College, Walla Walla, WA; and at the 2011 Sofia Biennale, Sofia, Bulgaria under the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of State and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts.
The lecture will take place in Epperson Auditorium, which is located in Vanderslice Hall on the KCAI campus. The event is free and open to the public. Her appearance at KCAI is sponsored by the printmaking department.
