More on internships ...
KCAI internships provide students the chance to work in a professional environment of visual art or design. This is not just an opportunity for local artists and businesses to receive free labor, but to mentor our students. Alumnus are encouraged to have interns not only because of their knowledge of KCAI, but to create a stronger comunity of artists and build a network for future employment and collaboration. This is the chance for them to experience what it takes to be a working fine artist or designer. Students are able to find out their strengths and weaknesses while still having the time and guidance to make changes and gain new skills.
Internships are available to junior and senior students during fall, winter, spring and summer semesters of the school year. Students can earn three, six, nine or 12 hours of course credit. Listings of internship sites are available in our office.
