Sculpture

The sculpture curriculum is based in an exploration of material areas during sophomore year with a stronger emphasis on the conceptual underpinning of creative work as you progress through the major.

A personal response to art making is encouraged and as students mature they have complementary classes of professional practice, the opportunity of an internship and are part of the careers services series of professional practice seminars and lectures.

Graduates of the program have become successful artists and sculptors in their own right and many have moved on the graduate school to refine their practice.

The curriculum calls for 15 to 18 credit hours per semester, including liberal arts courses as well as core courses in sculpture, materials and processes, professional practice and studio electives.
