Safety and Security Officer Part-Time

The Kansas City Art Institute strives to provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. Our Safety and Security Department encourages and solicits the assistance and cooperation of the Residence Life staff and the entire campus community to make the campus a safe place to work, create, live and play.

We are currently seeking applicants for a part-time, unarmed, Safety and Security Officer. Safety and Security Officers patrol the campus and other properties and performs basic safety and security services. This part-time position is weekend nights at $8.50 an hour.

Must have the ability to express oneself and communicate well both orally and in writing to all members of the campus community; a basic knowledge of criminal law and traffic violations; basic qualifications in first aid; skill in basic interviewing techniques; skill in use of police equipment; honesty and integrity; tolerance; leadership; good judgment; ability to maintain strong organizational and interpersonal skills; must be pleasant, courteous and maintain a professional attitude and presence; ability to resolve conflicts; ability to work when required. Must successfully pass the Kansas City Police Department Private Security License Test. All finalists will be required to take a drug test.

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Security and/or guard experience preferred. Position open until filled.
