Northland Continuing Education Invitational Exhibition

The Vanderslice Committee will be hosting an evening party on June 5 to raise funds for the renovation and restoration of Vanderslice Hall. Guests will follow the white rabbit to Nutterland, hosted at the home of Sonya and Jim B. Nutter, Jr.

The evening will feature open bars with Mad Hatter Cocktails, Wonderland dinner buffet stations and Queen of "Our" Hearts desserts. The food is provided by Lon Lane. A silent auction will be available to guests.
The Nutterland honorary chair is Betty Bushman. Marsha Hunt and Julia Steinberg are the event co-chairmen.

The “2010 Kansas City Flatfile” opens with a reception

The exhibition features two-dimensional artwork by Kansas City-based artists in media including drawing, photography, prints and mixed-media works on paper as well as time-based artwork in the “Videofile,” and will be on view from June 19 to Sept. 25 at the H&R Block Artspace.
The “2010 Kansas City Flatfile,” featuring two-dimensional artwork by Kansas City-based artists in media including drawing, photography, prints and mixed-media works on paper as well as time-based artwork in the “Videofile,” opens today at the H&R Block Artspace at 16 E. 43rd St. The exhibition runs through Sept. 25.
PCAL is open to 16 year olds through graduated high school seniors from across the country who apply to be accepted into this credit-granting three-week long residency program. Students will choose one elective (fashion design, kiln-fired glass, sculpture, painting, photography, digital media or printmaking), and one liberal arts class as well as participate in a life drawing class every evening. Participants will also take field trips around Kansas City on the weekends and enjoy a variety of Sunday afternoon workshops. The three weeks culminates in an exhibition from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 9.
