Digital Filmmaking

As a digital filmmaking major, you will learn the concepts, processes and techniques to develop film and video works in a variety of formats and applications such as; conventional narratives, experimental, documentaries, as well as video art installations and expanded cinema applications.

Digital filmmaking students have access to the media lab which is equipped with both Mac and PC workstations running Final Cut, Avid, and Premiere, as well as compositing software. In addition, students at any level have access to a wide range of equipment and facilities, including HD cameras, light kits, sound systems, and the green screen studio.

The digital filmmaking curriculum includes courses in critical studies on the history, theory and aesthetics of both film and video, film analysis and narrative structures, digital filmmaking toolbox, digital video production and editing, lighting techniques, post-production and color correction, video art, visual anthropology and documentary, multi-channel installations, expanded cinema applications, interactive cinema and database narratives.
