Interdisciplinary Arts

Based in a philosophy that values the development of integrative skills, students majoring in interdisciplinary arts at KCAI are supported in creating their own pathway through the school. Students work from a studio within the interdisciplinary department and access training and facilities throughout, and outside of, the institute.

Underpinned with a strong conceptual base, the work may involve installation, video, or a mix of media and materials, and may embrace any topic from biology to curating. .

Students are encouraged to experiment with form and ideas, and to discover the medium that best fits their intentions.

There is a strong emphasis on collaboration and cooperation throughout the program. Students are expected to maintain a strong work ethic and a professional attitude to prepare them for diverse careers ahead..
