Painting

In our painting program, we encourage a level of risk-taking that is always grounded in a formal foundation. Because our faculty is experienced and agile in helping you find your own voice, a particular style is never imposed upon you.

In addition to the traditional media of oil, acrylic and watercolor, we will encourage you to experiment with non-traditional methods of expression, photography, video and computers and adventurous new tools, such as photosensitized surfaces and ehcmical compounds, to name a few.

We believe all of your explorations, discoveries and research will not only help you define the art of painting for yourself, but, in the process will help you redefine how we collectively see and think about the world.
