Sculpture
Sculpture has become home to the most advanced and controversial art of our time. Installation, performance, new technology, land art and text-based work have joined with the traditional processes to make sculpture a place of endless possibilities. All barriers have been broken.
As a sculpture major at KCAI, you can make innovative forms as you investigate new aesthetic criteria for sculpture. For every artist working with traditional media like bronze, wood, clay or stone, you will find another involved with sugar, neon and video. We have one of the largest outdoor sculpture pads in the nation, complete with a pulley and hoist system, so we can accommodate whatever you conceptualize.
