Summer Studio Intensives 2008


Grow your art with our studio intensives for creative high school students.

 

Computer Animation
HIAN 118-01-SU
For sophomores, juniors & seniors
This workshop for high school students ages 15-18 will focus on digital animation, specifically using the Adobe After Effects program as your medium of choice. Class demos and lectures are held from 10 a.m. - noon. Studio time is held from 1-3 p.m. Experience in Photoshop (image editing software) is encouraged but not required. An exhibition will be held at the conclusion. Bring a pencil and notebook to class, all other supplies included.

Traditional Animation
HIAN 110-01-SU
For sophomores, juniors & seniors
Find out what it takes to become an animator. Whether you enjoy the narrative or the experimental, this course offers the ability to create highly engaging work in the field of animation. Using hands-on mediums, you will become part of a creatively charged environment that furthers your artistic skill sets and brings your ideas
to life. You and your fellow artists are here for the same reason--to see your art move.

Painting
HIPA 110-01-SU
For juniors & seniors
For ambitious high school juniors and seniors with prior visual art experience, spend an intensive week immersed in pursuit of painting and realize your personal, contemporary vision as you build your portfolio. Full days of painting will be divided between color mixing and theory with perceptual projects, and other projects that springboard from investigating what is currently happening in the painting world, plus forecasting possible future directions. Previous beginning art courses and experience with painting is recommended. Examples from your new body of paintings will be exhibited at the conclusion of this intensive. Supplies included.

Fashion Design
HFIB 110-01-SU
For sophomores, juniors & seniors
This intensive focuses on the creative aspects of fashion design. A series of assignments will challenge you to employ non-traditional techniques for the creation of apparel. Sewing skills will be helpful but are not necessary. An exhibition will be held at the conclusion. Most supplies are included, though you may wish to buy additional fabric. In addition, each student must bring a pair of 8-inch sewing sheers and see-through ruler.
