Renting a house
Houses are harder to find, especially close to the campus. Rental rates per student for a house can be less, but overall utilities can be expensive. Also, some landlords require the tenants to maintain the grounds when renting their house. The persons signing the lease are taking on a financial responsibility that is dependent on the cooperation of all the individuals living in the house to pay their monthly share on time. We urge caution and careful review of your budget before opting for a house.

Utilities
When you rent a property, whether it is an apartment or house, in most instances you will have to get some or all the utilities turned on. You will need to call the utility companies a week in advance to give them your address and let them know when you'll need your utilities turned on. In some instances, there is an initial hook-up fee involved.
