
Kansas City Art Institute Appoints Three Prominent Community Leaders to Board of Trustees

The Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) is proud to announce the appointment of Matthew Hufft, Anna Turner, and Tom Zahner to its Board of Trustees.
These accomplished professionals bring a deep wealth of experience spanning architecture, legal advocacy, and large-scale manufacturing to help support the institution's future growth.
The newly appointed trustees bring exceptional credentials to the board:
- Matthew Hufft is a founding partner at Hufft, an internationally recognized architectural and design firm. Bringing extensive expertise in custom architectural design, fabrication, and emerging technologies like AI and VR, Hufft has led over 700 projects and also serves as an educator in parametric design at the University of Kansas.
- Anna Turner is an Associate at Stinson LLP in Kansas City, specializing in complex business litigation and high-stakes dispute resolution across real estate, manufacturing, and technology industries. A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law, Turner brings a strong background in legal research, trial advocacy, and strategic problem-solving.
- Tom Zahner serves as President at Zahner, drawing on more than 25 years of experience leading strategic growth, cross-disciplinary execution, and landmark structural projects. Having previously served as COO, Zahner oversaw process development across design, fabrication, and installation for major cultural icons, including Seattle's Museum of Pop Culture and Chicago's Pritzker Pavilion.
These new board members join a strong leadership team led by Board Chair Josh Rowland and the Executive Committee. Together, they will help guide KCAI as it executes its bold Strategic Plan, transforming the college's infrastructure and organizational structure while honoring the core identity that makes the institution so unique.
